Welcome to my collection of conversations with humans who have lived a very vibrant life.A life rich in connection, experiences, exploration, ideas, lessons, perspectives, questions, and everything that makes us human.My intention is to learn from the person with whom I share conversation.I am conducting a series that arrives directly in your inbox every first of the month, simple and easy to read.I share 4 NEW STRATEGIES THAT I AM IMPLEMENTING, USEFUL TOOLS THAT I HAVE FOUND, TACTICS THAT FAILED, METHODS THAT HAVE STUCK LIKE GORILLA GLUE, EXPERIMENTS THAT MADE ME STRONG, EXPERIMENTS THAT MADE ME FEEL WEAK; EVERYTHING, RELATED TO THE PHYSICAL BODY.To stay in touch via the marvel of the internet and, in the future to come together and share the same space.I hope the conversation stimulates you intellectually as it did for me.BRAVO OUT!I share this conversation with Erin Johnston who is a Visual Artist, a Practicing Art Teacher and a Service Industry worker for 30 years. We start off with the hsitory of hip hop and then move along discussing the impacts and effects it had on Erin as a teenager. We talk about the beginnings of falling in love with art expression and carrying around a black covered notebook full of illustrations which was a sort of a visual cue between the community of artistic kids that surrounded her. We also discuss her current teaching methods, her formal education in the Arts, the impact and ripple effects of the teachings of her favorite Professor in college. Some questions we elaborate on: Is art technical or emotional? How does one evolve as an artist? What makes great Art? Is it an obligation for Artists to share their work or can they keep it hidden from the eyes of the World? The feedback loops we create as artists, widening the scope of consciousness. The process of making art over and over again. The experience of teaching children to be artists and express themselves freely on paper. Recorded in Austin, Texas here is the conversation I shared with Erin Johnston!  This is a public episode.
