006 Why Property Markets Are Volatile And The Patterns To Look Out For

from Super-Prime UK · host Rob Cohen

In this episode, we will discuss why property markets are volatile, and what patterns we should look for in order to understand those markets better. We will go through what I've learned about the market's behaviour in history, and how patterns repeat themselves.  What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Why paying attention to old trends can help us understand the present trends - Why the current market is hot, and pricing is going upwards - The influence of affordability, interest rate, and inflation on market's volatility Last year at the beginning of the pandemic, every specialist predicted that the property market would fall catastrophically, but it didn't happen. The interesting part is to know if we are simply delaying an inevitable fall, or we are experiencing a rebound and the beginning of a journey of growth and prosperity.  Resources: - My website: https://www.askrobco.com/  - Twitter https://twitter.com/askrobco  - Instagram https://www.instagram.com/askrobco/  - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmo02uW8LTXUhfiKB2oDlyA  - LinkedIn https://uk.linkedin.com/in/rob-cohen-125758172

Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
