Send us Fan MailBack in the day, yes, way back in the day, in the 1880’s, people grew food for their animals.  It wasn’t until the 1890's that introduced the incorporating of brewing by-products into animal feed and saw the start of Purina Mills in 1894, according to the Journal of Applied Animal Nutrition (JAAN).
