068 Giles P Croft - Starting Out & Enjoying What You Do

from The Coaching Life · host Phil Goddard

Starting Out & Enjoying What You Do In this conversation Giles brings his light-heartedness, humour and immense enthusiasm for coaching and shares what it’s been like for him at the very early stages of his coaching career. Surely a successful career as a surgeon, working in IT and also getting paid to ride a bicycle are the perfect foundation for becoming a successful coach… Or is it simply about enjoying what you do? Here’s a little more about Giles: Giles left a career as a qualified surgeon to pursue a dream of riding his bike for a living. From medical writing to policy advising, Health IT consultancy to keynote speaking, cycle journalism to shop-keeping with his wife, his way of being in life has always been fuelled by the simple concept of “More of what you like, less of what you don’t.” He now lives and writes and runs a heart-centred coaching practice in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, walking side by side through life with others determined to be themselves and “enjoy what they do”. He speaks regularly to audiences interested in personal change, writes at facebook.com/gilespcroft and hosts the “Enjoy What You Do” Community over at facebook.com/groups/enjoywhatyoudo Given his roots, Giles is passionate about the wellbeing of NHS staff and—with an ever-growing group of like-minded people—is on a mission to bring the inside-out understanding to healthcare professionals throughout the service.
