Grounded in the scientific method and yet bold enough to believe that plesiosaurs may have somehow managed to survive up into our current epoch - he is a formidable figure in cryptozoology, somehow walking the fine line of friendship between the many warring ideologies and egos that abound in this genre. He is knowledgeable and well read in lake monster lore, as well as being a witness of the lake Champlain monster; and one of its longest serving researchers!
