1. One Bad Decision

from Dr. Jim Richards · host Dr. Jim Richards

My new series, “Overcoming Bad Decisions,” starts today! Everything happening in our lives at this moment is, to some degree, related to a very specific decision that we’ve made. A single bad decision can take us down a road that we never intended to walk. That doesn’t mean we caused it, but we are where we are because of our decisions. As children of God, one of the most spiritual things that will ever happen in our lives is choosing to understand and accept personal responsibility. Responsibility answers the question, “Who has the authority (the right and responsibility) to take action and change what’s happening in my life?” God doesn’t have that responsibility. He gave it to us. Proverbs 4:23 instructs us to guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it flows the “issues” of life. The word “issues” means boundaries. Every boundary in our lives is determined by the beliefs of our hearts. Our lives can get no better or no worse than the beliefs of our hearts. When we mess up and make bad decisions, God doesn’t change his mind about us or our calling. People will evaluate us based on decisions we make, and it can cause them to lose confidence in us. But we are still created in the likeness and image of God. We can still hear the Spirit of God speaking to our hearts, leading us, and guiding our paths. We can make our decisions according to what the Word of God says and what God is speaking to our hearts. I want to show you how to overcome the destructive things that are happening in your life resulting from bad decisions you have made.

NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next. So tune in
