10. Love Languages & Manuals: RELATIONSHIPS

In this week's episode, we explore how the book by Gary Chapman, The 5 Love Languages (words of affirmation, quality time, giving gifts, acts of service, physical touch) interfaces with coaching principles and 'The Manual.' Manuals are unwritten “rules” we have for our partner (or other person in our life) that we expect them to follow in order for us to feel a certain way. Yet, we are ultimately responsible for our own feelings. Love languages are a useful way to talk about and communicate the ways we prefer to interact with another person so that we feel love; however, they are most helpful/relevant when utilized in the context of our knowing that we are ultimately responsible for our own feelings.
