#106 We have gone to far

from Toasting Design · host SoMIAE

While we discuss the student issue of going into too much detail in a design, Jeremy's adventure continues.... He was done, putting down the candy cane pen, Jeremy sat back in the fruit cake chair and marvelled. This was it, the pun that would end all puns. The recipe for a single piece of toast that would finally have Boer look at him with respect instead of... well what was that look? Was it pity? Was it fear? Fairly the time with Burt jumping out the cake instilled fear (how did Burt sneak in the shotgun) but that was different. Poor Anton. Snapping back to reality Burt finally took note of the children. They had casually taken to sitting opposite him at the table and were now staring at him with cold dark eyes. The heat at his back still pulsed through his jacket. What were they cooking, Jeremy wondered. Maybe I could send that to Boer, he thought carefully. Oblivious of his peril Jeremy stood up, waited for one of them to speak and upon the silent stares being returned Jeremy slowly reached for the piece of paper on the table with this latest idea. Trying to be both nonchalant and secretive in the motion, Jeremy failed to achieve either. The boy reached out and took the piece of paper, never breaking eye contact not appearing to blink. The girl beside him remained motionless but with an equally unblinking dark stare. Jeremy mulled it over. He was certain he would lose this fight. Where was Burt when you need him (out jousting the lawn mower most likely). Surely he would remember this idea. This amazing idea at that. With eyes repeatedly darting between the paper and the boy Jeremy reached out slowly. A single shake of the head by the girl, stopped him. So that was it. With a nod of his head in agreement Jeremy waited a few awkward moments and then strode back out through the broken door. Hosted after having gone a little too far by M. Boer and S. Schekman on 20th April 2021
