Ripsime is a British-Armenian, independent alt-pop songwriter, producer and visual artist. A creative force, her paintings alone have garnered intrigue from art enthusiasts and collectors alike, and her most recent EP 'Capsule I : Wicked & Wise' was met with acclaim from numerous online publications. In this episode, Ripsime shares the harrowing events that re-defined her life and music. In 2021, she took a trip to her motherland Artsakh during the Nagorno-Karabakh war. The corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia experienced bombing and a shutdown during the recording process of her EP, resulting in a geographical blockade for over 90 days. Ripsime spent the next year documenting, raising money, and reaching out to news outlets, before releasing 'Capsule I'.
