Well welcome everyone to Turbo Sports Radio and this is the first ever Turbo Tabletop edition. So this is the Warhammer, well at the moment Warhammer exclusive but possibly some different shit going on in the future with it. So obviously we've got Jono here, Mr Warhammer of Turbo Sports Radio and he's going to break down the table top and then talk about a tournament that is just about started right mate. Yeah so we've started up a league so we've got 18 of us all together and we've split up into three different pods so there's three lots of six and everyone plays everyone in their little pod and at the end each pod winner gets 25 yeah 25 pound store credit for Mr Games.
That's pretty nice it's a good incentive. It's a nice incentive but it's just nice to kind of like hone in your competitive edge because the idea is you've everyone picks their faction at the start and that's locked in but you can change your army between the games but everything has to be painted because in the rules you get 10 points if your army is painted so if you want to buy three different tanks because you're going up against a big heavily armoured army then great but you've got to build and paint those records. I like that I mean I know I'm a bit like you know the basin and that yeah I don't know much about the rules of Warhammer anything but I really appreciate the artwork and the craft side of it because that is a massive side of it. Oh yeah you wouldn't know obviously the game's cool but you kind of it's almost like those people that you know more like engineer or attistic all these sort of little thing all these kind of builders you know people like to build shit can get into it as well so there's two real main sides of it.
Well and you spend more time building than painting than you do playing the game anyway. Yeah sure yeah some of these characters that well I know that I build like they take a couple hours to put together they take five to ten hours to paint some of them and your game is what maybe three hours tops yes and so if you did enjoy building that shit do you know your far. It's not your thing so it's almost like you know when you're we always add it in wrestling games when you're creating a character but it's any sort of game creating a character is half of it. If you don't enjoy that you're missing out on half the game.
Yeah exactly. But yeah that's a really good rule I get to turbo thumbs up you know I mean yeah yeah because we've had it before where stuff hasn't needed to be painted in like past tournaments but I think at this point just get done and with it just to talk about kind of so on the set aside yeah are you gonna are you kind of documenting the tournament as a little bit as well as well and taking some pictures and you know just keeping an update yeah so taking pictures of the games and everyone has to submit to me their scores and because in the game you have the main mission and you pick your own it's they're called secondary objectives so they're little sightings that you score points on but each army has their own that they can choose from. Nice. So like with my because I'm playing Blood Angels I want to go fast and kill things and beat up in people's face so I'm trying to do things that are score be points for doing that because I'm doing that anyway.
Is that something that you are that is your strategy or is that something that you would probably suggest most people would do with the Blood Angels because that's their forte. That is their forte yeah they they get bonuses for doing that yeah so when you're trying to decide what army to play in that it's do if you want to more shoot the army then Blood Angels aren't for you they have shooting bits and with the way the game is now there is more shooting in the army but you're still punching people in the face right like half my army has jetpacks and they're flying up the board right so with yes so I just want to break down a few of them so when you're saying shooting I'm talking about you just for people that are just new to this if you're saying shooting is that to do with the distance between your all boys on the board they can kind of attack someone from further away is that what we're saying? Can you just give a little rundown before we get too deep into it if someone is just tuning in they don't know anything about it like what's the basic kind of principle of the board game itself do you know what I mean with the role of the dice and taking turns or that sort of work yeah so basically there are different places you need to be on the board to score points and then your guns have different ranges so you can shoot the people if you can see them and they're within that range you roll your dice to see if you hit them and there are armies when I say they're more shooty they have a lot more guns with a lot more shots and do more damage sorry is that dictated by the actual piece itself or is that like with cards that are kind of associated with with the piece itself with the piece itself so whatever piece whatever gun for example you put on your old boy is that is a gun yeah exactly yeah oh so that is good shit I like that that is that's deep yeah so you've got and there's there's all sorts of guns there's pistols there's machine guns flamethrowers rocket launchers whatever you can't just you can't just take whatever you want on a on a dude there are it all in the each army has its own rule book and it says this guy can take one of these weapons which one do you want and then you build it like that as well yeah you couldn't put a barrel of a tank and you put on so much chest and say he's got a tank you know you can shoot a rocket out of his chest as well that's yeah that yeah that's no good but I mean if you wanted to build it and just say well he just looks cool then go for it but you need those rules otherwise you can fix it in balance you know it's kind of like how I see is with Street Fighter games some of the characters are were imbalanced and they've had to kind of adjust them through updates and stuff like that like Seagat though you know generally is a little bit in balance because he can project our pan-lose he's big yeah long reach so he can fuck a lot of people up yeah so they have to bring down his range or slow him down a bit like that yeah you got it like dang if you know I mean there's a reason why he's so slow because if he gets you you're fucked because he takes two moves from to win so yeah I respect why you kind of keep these characters kind of honed and just in their in their specific kind of place yeah exactly nice and so you're you're kind of building your army around what what you want to do and also the armies kind of have their they have their own specialities there's there's a lot of play within the armies themselves but you get more out of them if you go a certain way nice so in terms of like the the gameplay mate you get first first role what do you get your role in straightaway to attack someone yeah so the game you got you got five rounds and in those rounds like I have a turn you have a turn and it's it's broken down into different phases so you got your command phase where there's different abilities where you can give buffs to people then you've got your movement phase where everything moves if you want it to then you've got your psychic phase so if you've got any dudes that are basically magic that happens then if there's everyone there's everyone out there shit or not not everyone there are some armies that just don't have that so they just move on to the next one yeah and then you've then you've got your shooting so if you're within range you can shoot and it's all it's all done with a tape measure and it will say 24 inches or 18 inches yeah some tanks are like 72 so it's like yeah if I can the ball doesn't even that big so is that an official tape measure mate or the people bring their own you know and have a nice shiny tape measure just for it what is it's overall on tape measures that's just just a standard one I mean there are games workshops out there everyone that's the one I use it is quite nice like it's one of those where it automatically locks you have to press the button to reel it back in because you're obviously you're measuring out a lot yeah you don't want to keep clicking that in so it's in inches is that what it's all inches yeah yeah because I think it's it's easier to change inches because if you take oh these guys are too fast we'll make them an inch slower rather than we'll make them what three centimeter slower yeah let's yeah yeah yeah yeah and then after your shooting you've got your charged phase so if you're close enough you've got your 12 inches because what you do you roll two dice and you run that far so the closer you get in your previous movement phase the easier is going to be to charge I see I see yeah but so it's like well two dice the average is seven right but sometimes you've got to take those 11 inch charges because that is crucial and now there are ways to let you reroll those dice but if you need say for example you're the blood angels and you need to pack some motherfuckers and you're not close enough you know I mean your charge is a gamble right it's obviously and they're not and they're close to you and they can just fuck you up yeah right okay yeah because like yeah obviously if you're because it's my turn and I'm trying to charge you and I fucked that up well I'm at least 12 inches from you so you're then gonna move shoot me and then probably charge me so if I don't get that off I'm fucked so you got shoot yeah sorry it's shoot shooting phase then charge phase right yeah that is because that's also another thing sometimes you might accidentally kill something before you can charge it and you're just left there right because say you do want to get up that board and be in there when you're opponent sided that's you'll move and further if you're charging if you can't charge something you're not moving so if you accidentally kill something your guys are just left out in the open right is there strategy say like I don't have sniper snipers exist or anything like me because you just keep shooting people and fucking running away is that is that happening but yeah so yeah this is how I got fucked in my first league game I was playing my blood angels against they're called the elder they're basically space elves and almost his entire army had this rule where when they shoot they can then move so I couldn't get into position because they kept moving around I couldn't get close enough do you see that is you know a cool strategy or is that you know as a as a classically trained Warhammer player mate is that kind of is that cool or is that frowned upon is that a bit of a faux pas I mean it's I guess it's kind of cool it's good to be doing it it it's not so fun to be on the receiving end of it and I didn't realize his entire army could do it as well that's another thing because there's just so much to learn about the game that it takes ages to to be able to see what your opponent has and know everything that they do right so there's normally either before you start your game it's a bit of a like common courtesy just to ask is that all right do you have any like gotcha moments like if I do something are you just going to turn around and say well you've lost because that's like here's mine is that this one of my guys can move before the game even starts that's all I can do what can you do right so is this this little exchange of information is that kind of like touching gloves in MMA or whatever you're just saying that is a respect we're gonna fight within the rules because if you don't do that it's a bit you know it's a bit you know it's a bit like a suck of money if you will yeah yeah it is like that and I imagine that the the very top of competitive play you might not get that because you say no you should know yeah and you're probably playing the same army because it's the matter but yeah it's it's a nice thing to do especially in like a shop community club situation it's just here's my thing what can you do cool and then you're playing knowing that nice but yeah I didn't quite realize the extent of his abilities but now you know if you're facing an army surely you've got that back here exactly then you would change your strategy accordingly which is just how it is right yeah and now that I've played that game I've also found like little holes in my my list so I'm changing it to be more more what I want to do nice because you've got a certain amount of points to play with because like a captain will be I don't know 120 points and you've got 2000 points that's the game you're playing right right okay so it'll be like playing like 150 cc on Maricard or something like that yeah so you build you build your army to that but now that I've kind of seen where the holes are it's like well I don't need him he's not done anything for me and they take this guy out and I've got 100 points to play with in goes these things it's almost like fantasy football you know managers you know you know you get all these players out there and then you realize that certain players don't actually know the good players they don't really kind of do anything again they're just helping a win but they're not really specifically doing anything so yeah sub amount basically exactly yeah and I've got enough painted bloodings with stuff to to be able to do that I have had to work on some bits but I've got enough nice yeah that you can change is if you don't have the your army painted already you might have to get them in or you just don't you don't want the time to do it you just can't make that sub exactly yeah yeah because I've I did a little like last minute pivot because I was gonna play Deathguard so you know that big mortarian model the deal with the wince I was gonna play with him and I've done a bunch of practice games for the whole pretty much the whole of January I was playing with them it's like yeah when the league starts this is what I'm using but it just won't cut in it and then we're gonna make that down and we made a list of blood angels and I was like yeah that sounds that sounds a lot better and then I did a practice game with them and just destroyed and won I was like yeah yeah okay I can't I tried to leave the blood angels but I can't I've got them they're everywhere I've got too many of them I respect that as well because sometimes I'm playing Street Fighter that's obviously I'm best with Ryu yeah Ken but sometimes you want to kind of play you know play around a little bit not with everyone because you won't be able to kind of figure them out you know online you can only invest so much time right yeah exactly but so I'll be playing with Ken for example I'm really good with Ken on Street Fighter 3 I'll be playing and you can play against someone's like well I should have won that one for some reason I didn't fucking win it so then you've played three times it's like I'm just gonna have to go back to you know just to just see where I'm at with this other boy and generally you beat him because that is or like it's good to play and you'll learn new little techniques and everything but you know deep down you know what who you need to pick to win exactly yeah and yeah I just I know so much of like the rules and abilities of of the blood angels that it's just it just makes sense yeah you know the buttons you know exactly I know the combos I know the I know the secret hidden combos and stuff yeah yeah you almost I've got a third eye knowing how they even move around the board better than probably a lot of the other characters yeah armies you know yeah exactly nice so just getting back to kind of like the how the tournament works everything so you win it so it's five rounds you said five rounds yeah versus three I take it or do you just play it play the flop you play the fool you play everyone and it's whoever has the most wins that's the Trump wins and then for like tiebreakers it's victory points because you can in your game you score up to a hundred I just tell everyone how how you do that so that will be from your secondaries and holding those objectives so it will be you can score for holding those like five objective markers that are on the board they're spread out you'll get a maximum of 12 points for holding those and then it's the same with your secondaries so like with the secondaries that I'm taken from my blood angels there's one where it's called engage on all fronts I need people in all four quarters of the board and each turn that I do that I'm scoring points nice I like that because you're kind of almost you do it to get more points but you could absolutely fuck yourself in the fight by doing it or it could just naturally actually occur I don't know you could force it a little bit maybe it's all strategy right I take it so yeah and depending where the objective markers are you might have to you might just naturally be in those quarters anyway but it's like okay well who will go leave where I start because you normally you start on one edge and your opponent starts on the other and then you've got to move around um that's like how can I quickly get there do I leave my tank here or do I leave someone else on this objective and push that up and it's always it's things like that it's positioning is key to the game it the movement phase is is where the game when when loses and do you find it if you're playing like a proper veteran you know I mean like a I don't know you know a figure-old player who's been playing it for fucking years is he just a little bit more just the nuances of the game is just easier for him and just like a nose what's the city place to put yourself in and I mean you might know as well but he's probably just you might have been in that position a thousand more times than you so he's always he's gonna he's gonna have that edge that's it and also knowing uh like trading off so moving put in one of your guys into a situation where you might get a kill or you might die but you're kind of trading your point so you might kill someone but you know they're gonna die in return but that initial kill is worth more so some like a veteran might move up in a way that so I see that so they're out on the open i'm gonna go pounce but that's what they wanted because they're on the other table they're on the other side of the table moving all the tanks up and then they're just gonna shoot me because i'm now out in the open so things like that you learn that you learn that the hard way yeah yeah which is the best way to learn is the best way to learn um but we've got we've got a nice selection of players um only a couple of armies have been doubled up and i think only one of the pods actually has two of the same army in it that's cool yeah that's cool you know yeah i do well with everyone's different you know that would be that would be cool but yeah it's probably more it's hard when you've got that many teams going as well you know yeah so we've got what i say 18 players i think there's 14 armies represented that's pretty cool that's really good yeah yeah you're like yeah we'll have some factions and stuff yeah because there's a couple of space marine players but they'll be playing like in my pod there are two space marine players maybe in one of them i'm playing the blood angels the other guys playing they're called ultramarine's they're the poster boys now they're the ones in blue yes yeah yeah so he's playing them they're a bit more what i was saying with them all shooting and i know they've got some tricks up their sleeves we've moving around and making it difficult yeah but i have speed on my side yeah that's because you play as a you know you're a subcategory as well of that you kind of probably know how they play a little bit as well you're not mean you're closer to their kind of skill set or are you completely different you know a lot of a lot of what we have is the same um so like with his dreadnought to the big robots i've got two of them as well so i know exactly what his i think he is using free i know exactly what they can do and with those robots are they a bigger piece i take it on the board and they just fuck people up more in all kind of aspects like range just power all that sort of stuff or they or they just they're on defense as in terms of they can take a lot of hits um they are just better but they're they're kind of one model so they only have they're pretty good at shooting other like armored pieces so tanks and other robots and genorps and they can kill if they get into combat like hand-to-hand they will kill a few guys but they're only getting like six attacks and if there's a squad of ten you just can't kill them all because there's because in 40k damage that doesn't carry over so it doesn't matter if you're punching robot fists there's ten damage if a guy's only got two wounds or two health it's focused on him so that's what he's very good against tanks because they have like 18 wounds but because it's also one thing they can pick that full ten so again it's picking what to attack with it yeah and is that a strategy that some people employ in terms of if someone sent a tank out you're gonna send your tank out whatever and it's like they're gonna fucking do it first yeah you know is that just because you kind of have to because otherwise that tanks just gonna smash everything up or could you send your troop up to the tank you know what fucking we're gonna we're gonna take this yeah take this tank on because we think we yeah we sacrifice you know three of our all boys or something but that tanks down now because we know we can we can do it that's it and it's also like screening so in you have a unit of i don't know just whatever shit dudes stood in front of your tank so when people are charging in they've got to charge those shit dudes first and yeah they'll kill them but that's not what they want to kill i like them so how many how many old boys would you put in front of the tank you know just to give it enough cover what is would you have like three old boys or would you need five you wouldn't like a five or there were some real like chaff units that be ten and stuff like that like in the deathguard you've got they're called poxwalkers and zombies and they they can run around in blobs of 20 right so they can just sit there and say yeah come on yeah kill them whatever doesn't matter but the thing is in my blood angels i don't really have any shit dudes everyone is a pretty key piece so when they tie that that's it at least care mate it's a very bad thing about them yeah um basically i i it's such a fun game and it it really does get your brain thinking yeah it sounds like as an outsider it does sound like a cool the concept is quite simple yeah do you know what i mean but uh i suppose war hammer just added complexity to it you know i mean an obviously you could probably have complexity to it as well but you can go as deep like with a painting you can go as deep or as shallow as you want with it with the game i suppose you can kind of just simplify it or you can go super fucking nerdy and properly get you know hone it in that's it i mean like have you played risk yeah yeah a long time ago but yeah i it's just that but on like steroids so well it's cooler right you know i mean you know i got cool like it's where the artwork you know when i was kind of looking at the artwork yesterday there's a lot of good fun work there's some really like some of i don't like some of what i do in some of respect you know yeah for the age of it i kind of like and some of the really new shit is clean clean shit you know so it's it takes a lot of boxes yeah and yeah i mean like back in the i think early 2000s there was a lot of artwork by a guy called john blanche who it's really in proportionate stuff and it's done with like inks and watercolors and it's really sepia so you've probably seen them like yeah i know i know i know i know what you're talking about and um some people there's i kind of i don't know how you describe it like a movement or like a paint style called blanche planche shitshu i can't really say it but where it's really grungy and dark and just you just chuck stuff on it and it looks great nice because it's not a it's not clean setting by any means like the background all that they're fucked everything's ruined yeah there is no good outcome uh billions of people die every day in that setting so you're not going to have these nice clean things and it doesn't look cool when you paint something nice and clean but also you got to appreciate when it's grunge and just filth but done in a nice way yeah i take can you do that to your your blood angels your team can you kind of give them a little bit of your authentic connotatur or does it have to be a certain color and that sort of uh so yeah mine are done ever so slightly from the official scheme um but they still are the main pieces of blood angels i think one of the big differences mine have from the official art is like the eagle on the chest i paint mine gold because it looks cool yeah but the official art is black ah right so there's yeah oh yeah it does look sweet yeah and but they're still blood angels they still have all the stuff and it doesn't matter um as long as it is close enough to it and then nobody cares but they're definitely not ultramarine who are blue yeah that's the thing like if if i showed a wall hammer player so who is this they would go that's a blood angel and that's kind of the the unwritten kind of acceptance of if you turned up and you said you're this but you're you've just fucking painted them the other sub uh categories color or something yeah so i don't know what i'm talking about i didn't want to call you out on this one but you can't really you can't really do that yeah exactly and i mean there are rules for custom armies so you can make your own scheme up and you can use like you pick a couple of certain rules and they can be uh like with space marines as successors so the parent chapter is blood angels but these guys are doing their own sort of thing but they are blood angels but they're black and gold or green because they like they fight in the jungle that's why they're green but originally they came from the blood angels right nice and yeah it doesn't matter they're rules for that so you say you've got 18 players mate is it and three three groups have six people in each yeah then is there like a semi-final final sort of scenario or you just kind of just winning you just doing that for now just who wins like the almost the way it's well not exactly but the way this america football works is they've got their conferences yeah almost all in the same level you know i mean it's not like football where it goes down there all the conferences are kind of all on the same level but then you know then they do the playoffs and get to the final yeah i think if anything that's how i would like to do it is it's like that um yeah do a tournament like an actual one day tournament of the like top half of each yeah i mean what 12 players that's an easy tournament to run and then just they can go at it and that's the winners but for this one are you thinking it's just gonna be like three separate kind of titles you know i mean you won exactly you know you won group whatever you call it you know i mean you're the group eight champion yeah they're all they're all named after moons because the the mystic game flowgo has a moon in it so there's lee lunar because it's our moon league titan and league phobos that's f**k that's quality that is like i thought it was gonna be like group a bnc and so it's still cool but the fact that i could say i'm f**king the lunar champion or something exactly that's cool yeah i was one new champion you know it's that is i like that john i asked a good gimmick i'm league fighting so i could be the target winner oh yeah champion yeah i doubt it but i could be yeah i know someone got me yep and i'm gonna give everyone every loser a wooden spoon as well just classic do uh does anyone get like a little trophy i mean you're gonna give like a gold uh warhammer trophy or something i should do i should freely print then and give you maybe make some three moons i mean i could three moons even just if they're war hammer size and put them on a little stand yeah cut them in the right but at least you get because if i was in there i won that i'd be i would want to put a little something even if it's small just on my mantle and say you know what that was f**king you know yeah i mean for the for the proper tournaments that we do that are like one day things you do get a trophy so i might i might really print some moons that's pretty cool moon on a pedestal spring gold call it a day yeah yeah simple yeah but at least you do get something for it it's a cool thing to have then you can have you know if you want a few of them you can just line them up together and that can be your little kind of crazy cabinet you know yeah exactly but yeah it's it's great i mean with the the tickets as well is that there was people were sort of rumbling what saying they wanted to do a league and i wanted to run one so i was like all right f**k it let's let's call you bluff and i i kept part in the seed for a couple of months and then uh because games were actually announced a new rule book um or it's a new season so that's what the game is balanced around every six months they do one of those so as soon as they announce that i was like sweet right here's our league we'll be using that book when it comes out because it'll be out in a couple of weeks we'll be using that and those i sold the it was twelve tickets in the first five minutes and then all 18 were gone within a week that is good participation mate you know that is almost interesting a week yeah and we had a month before it started it's not like you're chasing people to get people in no people are wanting to get in straight away yeah which is great it's great to see when you put on an event you want you want it to sell out yeah it makes you know it makes you feel good that you obviously the good for the shop and everything bring people in exactly yeah but it's it's good for the whole community it's good for war hammers a whole to survive when you when you getting people together like that that's it yeah because yeah if no one's playing the game the game dies as cool as the painting is i it wouldn't be it wouldn't be where it is without the game side of it and yeah nice um so do you in in the players you're that signed up mate and players that come into the shop and you've played within in matches and stuff like that before do you now know who's like the top dogs do you kind of do you know who uh the favorites to win the the competitions i would say so yeah um and the arguably the best person that plays in the shop is in my fucking pod but he's playing with a different army that he's won all the tournaments with so maybe but i could probably i could probably guess take an educated guess that who's going to win each pod right that's what i was thinking if it could end as everyone know that would you just know that do i mean is that kind of like i think most people would know that right there were some people that don't play each week that are in this um but i reckon the die-hard regulars would know uh who the top players are cool so this this old boy for example that you're talking about he's changing his um this army does he still kind of like you still think he'll win yes yeah i do think so he's just he's got such a good understanding of the game that i think that will carry him through so much it's like what we've been saying about knowing what your opponent does he's been playing for ages and he knows he just knows what they're doing like where we would watch gate videos or whatever he's reading up about other armies and things and shit like that which i do a lot but i can only take so much in yeah yeah it's time is how we how we get that database yeah i mean you don't just get it straight away no but after 20 years or whatever it is you're you're gonna let them all those good aspects just come second nature yeah nice um so are you gonna can you name these people mate or they've got a name of the team do you know what i mean yeah all right so i just want to get you i want to get your predictions before obviously before you get deep into the league it'd be nice to know what you're saying and where you think you're gonna kind of end up or where you're hoping to end up yeah so my my goal in all is to get at least two out of five wins i think it's a very respectable it's it's not that's not too much of an ask um so i don't know oh maybe i just don't want to be last really um i reckon top three is where i want to be nice nice um so we'll start with league lunar um there's that's gonna be a close one that league because in that i'll break down the armies you've got uh sisters about uh custodies deathguard leagues of oten ultra marines and blood angels there's another blood angels player in there um but i think it's gonna be between the custodies or the leagues of oten leagues of oten are just an incredibly good army they just win just by their rules they're a bit broken so are they kind of like captain falcon in smash brothers they're kind of the easiest player to be and being quite effective yeah well the before the um rule book for their army came out it got enough before even before people were even playing the game with it that's how broken they were so i think it's between those two and sorry just to go back on that is are they gonna win because the old boys good as well like is is he is he a decent player he's all right yeah he knows what he's doing yeah so he's probably he would take offense to me saying that that he's just because he is still a good warhammer player but that's the one he chooses what does he choose them because they're you know i mean is it one of them is it just i think he's chosen because they're a good army he knows how to play the game but i think he's chosen because they're a good army right okay fair enough whereas with the custodies player um he is genuinely a good player okay so he's what what's the gimmick mate they are the basically what space marines are to humans they are to space marines so your 2000 point army of them you'll have like 20 dudes on the table not 60 um and they're big guys in golden armor and they are they protect the the emperor of mankind like that's their that's their role is to be their his bodyguard um and they they fucks it up they're really good so if you played as the mate would you be you know would would you be higher would you kind of guarantee yourself a higher place in your league position or because you know the blood angels so well yes i i wouldn't know what i'm doing with the custodies right so they can't be that easy you know they're not no no there's still a lot of room for aeronum and again because you only have so many guys if you have a nightmare and lose a squad or two that's big you've lost a quarter of your army right um so yeah i think he's gonna i think he's gonna take it yeah um and then you got league titan which is mine we've got ultramarines uh the audari blood angels jean steelers thousand sons and the ashramillitarum and i think the thousand just as he picked him before or is he just wanted to test him i think he just wanted to change um i think it's an army that he had on the back burner for quite a while it's just freedom like a bit of a change um and so you know that mortarian that big demon guy that i showed you the thousand sons have their own version they've got a different guy it's called magnus he's a big massive dude that is like the wizard as well so right that army the psychic phase they do so much in that because everyone has an opportunity every squad can do something in that um and yeah they're just they're badass nice is anyone who's gonna compete against him anymore gonna give him a run for his money i think the audari who i lost against i think they're gonna give him a run for the money um and maybe the ashramillitarum um because they're the they're the humans they're just generic human guys or imperial guard please to be good um but they've got a lot of tanks and things that don't need to see you to shoot you they can just sit in the back and just it's mortars and just pepper i like that yes so my plan when i play them is probably just just charge just run up as quick as i can because there's no point otherwise you can't wait around because it's not a good idea because i don't have the best defense so i need to be all all momentum all violence all the defense for you is attack exactly yeah um and then you've got league phobos um and then in this one you've got tau orcs tau again chaos knights black legion and another sister's about uh so the double tau so when i was saying about the shooting that's that's what these guys do um they've got like they've got their shocking in they can't punch they if they're in hand-to-hand combat they fucked up they so they are shooting they're shooting them running that's it yeah they just they've got like laser guns and spacecraft and things that just want to just chuck hundreds of shots and kill anything before it gets to them and what is their like where they come from what they look like what's like just uh they're like the newest race in the galaxy um and they're they're weird they're like blue people they're a little bit smaller than humans um but they have a lot of um uh like mech suits so like in parringers you know you've got the mega zords and shit like that they have those things nice they're very like anime like right is that is it quite a popular team to be because of the the the little fucking models look sweet spark yeah yeah because everything else is very like gothic looking these guys are nice smooth lines i think i think you would i might need to check these motherfuckers out they say i mean they rather i love the blood demons like you know they they they look sweet as fuck and i get it they kind of represent you know what happened to me that's sort of deal yeah um but yeah some anime shit some megazords make those and megazord are knocking about or gun damn yeah it's basically gun damn that's what this song is and there's two of those records i'm in the chat with um uh there's like four of us and we're in different leaks but we've gone to tournaments and stuff before and we're trying to hone in our list as best as possible uh and they're they're a bit wary of the amount of shooting that is gonna come from them um so but i think the winner of that leak is gonna be the black legion which are the chaos space marines um just that because of the old boy playing or is it because of the um how good they are on the board more so the guy playing them like they they've got a couple of really good units um their leader uh abandon he's called abadon the spoiler he he fucks it up like he will kill anyone you put him against but he if that army if there's so many key pieces that if they lose something then it does quite fall apart but he's had his first game um and it was over by turn two really it was just obvious that was the other old boy was dead like almost everything was off the board there just wasn't anything left alive did you watch it or not no i was i'd love to see the reaction of someone who's just you know you get your heart handed to you mate there's nothing you can do about is there no i'd like to see if someone is getting angry or kind of just or just kind of um just taking it on the chin you know which would be nice to see yeah i mean i'll send you a picture and it's just ridiculous like it's i've sent a picture of the dead pile from end of turn two so you've got one person's got four models dead and the other one may as well have not even put his army on the board that is an army with a tank or something there yeah that would be pretty heavy to take that yeah but the stat league does look like it's a lot of fun because you've also got the Orcs in there you've got Chaos Knights which are wicked Chaos Knights are big big giant robots again but i don't know how to kind of like um pacific rim style like yeah yeah just all guns and yeah there's maybe five of them and that's that's the army but more industrial sort of gun and wing you know you know like just a squarer and yeah just all bulk they've just plotting along oh i'm on one you know that that yeah but a hundred meters tall yeah i've got a few of them myself i don't have any out to show you but they're awesome there's so much fun to play with yeah i can imagine what and that is the whole the whole crew is is there is it or yeah you've got slightly smaller ones they're robots as well or is there any idea is those smaller ones are piloted by one guy and then the bigger ones have got a crew of like free i think it is yeah nice but you never see the crew there inside it they're in the helmet or something yeah exactly nice um so you've already played a match mate is everyone already played a match or is it you've i think most about half people have played a match you got a league in front of you the league positions not yeah i haven't updated the sheet you know who's top and who you know i mean who's top of each at the moment we go with that i suppose there's no drawers right uh no i know so in league phobos the black legion are winning um then in league titan will be the i think it's i think it's the ultramarine's are winning there's been two games in my league and then in league luna uh they've not a game at oh no they have they have that's a lie um the custodies one right yeah so it's so far it's long enough to what to what i think is gonna how it's gonna end cool so um if people wanted to get involved in next one mate how did they do it how did they find information on this i mean i mean so oh yeah so if you keep an eye out on uh mr. games.co.uk there'll be all the information is there there's the events page where the tickets go up um there's also a blog where i'm going to be updating i'll be writing out people's summaries and i'll be putting the scores up just so everyone can follow along um and on our social media we post it when we're when we're doing these things um and yeah we should be doing more of these as well more turbo tabletop yeah nice yeah exactly we'll try and keep the the list more you'll try and keep the list up the day in in the tournament as you know especially can whatever exactly and with the people actually in it as well yeah which would be cool you know because i'm asking you questions from a novice point of view mate but to hear like super technical shit it's gonna be you know it might be pretty nerdy but to hear super technical shit like that because we talk about it in skateboarding yes you know a non-scatable list is like what the fuck are they going on about it's the same sort of thing but you can still listen because you can learn it you know you can even get involved yourself it might even entice you you know so that's it yeah so yeah there's plenty of ways um and if you keep an eye on the mystic games website that's going to be the best place and we will we will definitely be doing uh another league um and there's going to be age of sigma tournaments in the future which is the fantasy version of the game nice it's same rules as it or almost identical rules ever so slightly different right but yeah may as well be the same game um yeah but more narrative based that is what we're going to go for so more story driven rather than competitive because the age of the dragon sort of shit is up and i've fallen to their wall a bit but it's more going to be because in age of sigma there are four overarching factions they're called orders you got order chaos destruction and death and we'll we fight in for who's the winner of a particular area and we'll have a map and stuff that you can fight over and there's um there will be a winner crowned at the end like the the warlord of wherever i mean i'm in the pre-production of that moment nice yeah i was just thinking so for the last kind of games of the tournament you can have a night where everyone's together so you can kind of you know if someone golf club when they do win the whole thing you know you do the award ceremony the end give out a little move you know if if we can organize it to where it's all the winner games are happening at the same time that would be great but we might have to do a little award ceremony post post- tv so the walls are like me you know and that's cool you know that big everyone together just have a little everyone can have a little bit of a you know exhibition games just playing around every time a bit fun and you're getting everyone together to give just to acknowledge you not only through one yeah give out the moons give out the spoons probably everyone yeah everyone to come up it's like it's spoon on me you know yeah that would be wicked yeah nice well i think we've laid the law down there mate i think everyone's kind of ready to go for the next um table top anything else to add to it mate i don't think so i think we're just gonna we're gonna
