12/15/2024 The Gift "Good Or Bad Gift"

This is week two of our series The Gift. Today, we speak about gifts—gifts that are good and gifts that are bad. In the world, we often exchange gifts, sometimes good, sometimes not so much. But there is one gift that is always good and always essential for our spiritual lives, and that is the gift of discernment through the Holy Spirit. In the passages we read today, Jesus is confronting false teachings and the people’s inability to discern the truth. It is so important we search out God's truths and His Spirit with our decisions we make in our lives, and that is a gift God offers to us all through a relationship. We read over Matthew 16:1-12, Jude 1:12-13, Jude 1:17-24, James 3:13-18, and 1 Corinthians 2:1-10.
