#12 How Long Are You Going To Wait? - Special Episode (21 Day Project - Day 3)
Listen to this episode
Summary
“How long are you going to wait before you demand the best for yourself and in no instance bypass the discriminations of reason? You have been given the principles that you ought to endorse, and you have endorsed them." Epictetus If we let go of the verbiage that we feel we have to constantly apologize for, what would remain? What would happen if we let go of the manufactured constructs we judge our worth against? Whether it’s your age or your career or personal relationships, who would you be if you didn’t let those things influence your concept of self? And as Epictetus reminds us, what the heck are you waiting for? Creative Coaching Question: how old would you be if you didn’t know your age? How would things change for me if I didn’t know what car I drove? Or what job I had? Or what city I lived in? How would I feel if I didn’t know what I looked like? How would I act if I didn’t know what looked like? The idea for this came from a post on @and.bloom (IG) the account of photographer Denise Boomkens (https://www.andbloom.amsterdam/denise-boomkens/) she is a master of the art of aging unapologetically. Go and check out her site; it's a "digital happy place for women over 40."

Aging… it is inevitable. The good news is… We have a choice in how it goes down: we can fight it (despite knowing we can never win) or we can learn how to embrace it. For the majority of my 20-year career, helping women to improve their health, I have largely worked with the population 40+ and in this episode of the Grace & Grit podcast, I discuss three things that I believe are essential to be a woman who ages gracefully.
