13. Going Inside Project - Ciara

In this session we meet Ciara who shares the impact of years of punishing physical workouts and weight cycling. She connects with her Eating Part, discovers what this Part truly needs and helps her to heal. WHO SHOWED UP Key Parts A Part who wants to chill and has had permission to rest A Part who trains with intensity A Part who eats to protect from the intensity of the training experience A Part who feels angry towards the Eating Part. Other Parts A Part who feels nervous and scared by confrontation A Part who believes it can manage confrontation but doesn’t want to have to A Part who sets high expectations A Part who has all the info and knows what to do. WHAT I NOTICED… Ciara navigated her system well and she was really responsive to the process. I experience my inner world in a similar, very visual way to Ciara and my Parts really enjoyed the creativity in her system. WHAT I’D DO DIFFERENTLY… As she began to connect with her Eating Part, another Part (the moat) showed up, who was concerned about this connection and fearful that Ciara might be cross with the Eating Part. lt believed Ciara was in fact the Angry Part. Although Ciara did a great job in creating safety for her Parts through her presence (and Self Energy), I could have brought more clarity to the process at this point. SUMMARY A real pleasure to do this work in such a creative system.
