141: Do's and Don'ts For Sports Parents (Part 1)

from The Coaching Life Podcast · host Chris Stewart and Pat Martin

We're beginning a new series of podcast episodes in which we talk about some things we SHOULD do with ourselves, with our children, with coaches, and with the other parents... as well as some things we should NOT do with each of those persons. If you are the parent of an athlete, you know how tempting it can be to lose our perspective when it comes to our child's participation in sports. Chris and Pat have decided to tackle some of those things in the next two or three episodes, and frame them as "Do's and Don'ts" for sports parents. Part of the goal of this podcast is to say the quiet parts out loud. We all have things that we think about but don't talk about, and there are conversations we would like to have (or NOT like to have but need to have) but there isn't an occasion for which to have them. That's what The Coaching Life Podcast intends to be: a useful conversation. (11:20) is where that conversation begins, in case you would like to skip the introductory words and go directly to the topic of ol conversation! Please let us know how we can be useful to you. Thanks for listening!
