Growth Instigators Hotline970.306.6432It’s all in the hips.  It’s all in the hips.Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every week day!  This is message #145 and I am Aaron Havens.Happy Gilmore was a smash hit in America.  During one of the most quotable scenes the dialogue between Happy Gilmore and Chubs went down something like this:Chubbs: It's all in the hips. It's all in the hips. It's all in the hips. It's all in the hips.Happy Gilmore: Get off of me.Chubbs: Just easing the tension, baby. Just easing the tension.Happy Gilmore: Yeah, well ease it on someone else.Chubbs… being the brilliant Pro Golf Coach he was, realized that happy was tense and needed to relax.  Today.  Yesterday.  This week… were there any moments you needed to breathe before you blew your lid.  The tension was so high you were about to rush your putt, or tell off that customer service rep.  Hey friends… relax.  Take a breathe.  Life doesn’t need to be filled with that much tension.  “It’s all in the hips.  It’s all in the hips”.  I’m not saying to be nonchalant, breezy cool, it’s all good.  Nah, life is tense.  And dealing with the tense moments require maturity.  I’m simply painting a picture for you to consider. Did you find yourself loosing it or nearly loosing it this week.  Was the tension too much for you?  Did your actions result in mature resolution, or if you could change your actions or words… would you? A while back I got far too serious and upset with a customer service agent.  I don’t even remember what it was for… probably our internet or something.  I had had a rough day and the poor person on the other end of the phone got the blunt of my frustration.  I’m all for serious and directed conversation.  Especially if the customer service agent is apparent about not caring to help you or understand you… however, after the call I was embarrassed at the way I had forcefully spoken to the human on the other line.  I hope that person didn’t go home and repeat my offense.  Whatever I was arguing over… simply was not worth it.  Nowadays, I say the persons name over and over outloud during the conversation to remind myself that they are a real live human that has a life of their own.  I need to be respectful.  I need to breathe a minute and remember, it’s all in the hips.  It’s all in the hipsThanks for calling in today.  At the sound of the beep I want to hear from you.  Tell me about a time you lost your cool.  How did that turn out?  Would you do it the same way?  https://growthinstigators.com/
