15. Going Inside Project - Kristen

In this session we meet Kristen who explores how earlier experiences changed her relationship with her body. We discover how a younger Part of her continues to feel confused about the body given the conflicting messages. We discover how hard this Part worked to try to be good in order to meet her need for connection. Kristen builds a relationship with this Part in session and helps her to heal. WHO SHOWED UP Key Parts A Part who is confused A Part who uses clothing to assess for change A Part who is concerned about passing food and body concerns down A Part who says it’s okay, we’ve done the work on this WHAT I NOTICED… I had a Part who really resonated with the confusion of the young Part and the mixed messages she received growing up. In order to remain curious, I reminded myself that although there are parallels, I don’t know Kristen’s unique experience. This helped me move from a more empathic position (I am this) to a compassionate one (I’m here with this). There was a flow to this session with lots of Self Energy available in both mine and Kristen’s systems. I noticed a lot of trust in her and her Parts in the process. WHAT I’D DO DIFFERENTLY… At the end when checking in with the Part who had initially been scared of the young confused Part, I would have preferred to have spent more time developing a connection with Self before exploring the partnership going forward. 3 WORD SUMMARY OF THE SESSION Flow, freedom & connection.
