🎙️ Episode 150: Join me for an enlightening conversation with Jennifer and Paul Misciagno, the dynamic owners of Strand Salon in Glastonbury, CT (@strandsalonct). In this episode, we explore the concept of a departmentalized salon and discuss the nuances of leadership, management, and working together as a husband and wife team. Paul Misciagno has been a leader in the hair industry for over 25 years, touring the United States to educate stylists on the art of hair cutting. With a remarkable background as a creative director and senior designer for some of the industry’s top brands, Paul began his journey at just 19, becoming one of the youngest hair designers on stage. He has owned three salons in South Florida and has also worked as a professional photographer, capturing images of celebrities and athletes since 2007. Jennifer Misciagno brings 21 years of beauty industry experience, specializing in color for the past 15 years. Renowned for her lived-in balayage techniques and meticulous foil work, Jennifer is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and leaves feeling confident and like part of the Strand Salon family. After moving from NYC to South Florida, where they first opened Strand Salon, the couple eventually returned to Jennifer's home state of Connecticut, launching their Glastonbury location in 2013. Starting with no staff or clients, they worked tirelessly to build their dream, and today they have a thriving salon with a supportive community.
