16 - Before She Knew Him by Peter Swanson
Listen to this episode
Summary
The gang is back together! It was our first time recording in over three weeks and we read Before She Knew Him, a gripping we-know-who-done-it thriller about one woman's quest to prove her fears about her new neighbor aren't just in her head. It was nice to be fully back in action once more and we had a lot to say about this book and what the last few weeks of our lives have been like. What Did We Just Suggest?! Justin: MrBallen on YouTube. He has tons of videos about true crime, but also just weird, maybe paraormal stories. Justin is addicted. Maya: Cracking the Cryptic on YouTube. It's a delightful British man solving incredibly complex Sudoku puzzles (sometimes with 0 digits!) and it's very soothing.

What Did We Just Say About AI?
03/22/2024
In today's episode of The Daily AI Show, Brian, Beth, Andy, and Jyunmi gathered for a two-week wrap-up show to revisit and further explore various AI-related topics discussed in the past two weeks, spanning from the potential of robotics and consumer-grade AI devices to the latest advancements in software development automation and the evolving landscape of AI literacy. Key Points Discussed: Robotics and Consumer-grade AI Devices: Beth highlighted her fascination with the recent discussions on robotics, noting the polarized public opinion towards their application in militarization and the workforce. The conversation veered into the affordability and potential of consumer-grade robots, like those from Unitree, priced between $1,500 and $5,000, drawing parallels with high-end consumer technology prices. Advancements in AI-driven Software Development: Karl introduced a recent development by Microsoft, the Autodev framework, which aims to automate software development completely, turning developers into supervisors. This spurred a discussion on the future of software development and the role of AI in enhancing developer efficiency and autonomy. Agentification of AI and Large Language Models: The concept of "agentifying" large language models, enhancing AI's ability to undertake more complex, multi-step tasks with minimal human supervision. This segment explored the potential of AI agents in transforming various business operations and strategies. Human-Computer Interface (HCI) and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI): Jyunmi introduced updates on HCI and BCI, specifically Neuralink's advancements, facilitating direct brain-computer communication. This led to speculation on the future of human-AI interaction and the broader implications for society, including transformative changes in communication, data storage, and personal capabilities.
