16. Kim Spangler & All the Things: Eco-farming, Explosives, & Exploration

Today, you and I get to enjoy a conversation with Kim Spangler & All the Things. Kim is the founder and head designer at Branches and Blooms Design as well as owner of Branches and Blooms Farm. Through both endeavors (both of which are side businesses) she keeps her focus on sustainable farming and designing premium florals, Her designs are exquisite, and having seen her work first hand, from start to finish, she is all in for the win. Kim uses her design expertise, vast science background, sustainability focus, and impeccable attention to detail to deliver eco-friendly and premium quality products. During our conversation, Kim ties her experience working for the government in, among other things, environmentally friendly explosives with her experience as a mom to a neurodivergent child into a story about process and structure coupled with curiosity and creativity. We get a peak behind the curtain to life working in DC, a solid parenting strategy, and so much more. Her take-away: “Set your non-negotiables. Know what those are.
