16. The Structure of The Ego

from The Cognitive Liberty Podcast with ChrisPYounce · host harmonichomesteading

In this episode, I scratched the surface of perceiving the ego differently. What does the ego offer to our neurological and psychological way of being? How do our social circumstances reinforce the ego? And what does this mean for our lives on a personal level? In our journey of becoming more self-aware, I think it's important to question how our ego becomes developed over time, based on the people we hang out with, the stories we've told ourselves, or what we've been told throughout our lives. Our ego is a story. As fictitious as may be, it is what hinges our social experience to what we take seriously about ourselves as it molds and forms our identity over time.  I hope you enjoy this episode and the reading from my book.
