Some of today's top storiesDozens of officers scrambled to the scene of a shooting in south Bakersfield... that prompted a standoff with the SWAT team. We're told by authorities at least one shooting victim is in the hospital. 17's Rob Hagan has the latest.This is an 8-foot tall statue of Sinclair's famous green dinosaur. It's on its way back to where it belongs... at the gas station on the corner of Coffee and Hageman roads.... after being *stolen.* Officers found it still in one piece at a home in Oildale... where they also found stolen cars, gas pumps and car readers. Police say the card readers have been linked to a series of thefts at gas stations throughout Kern County. A man was arrested on several burglary charges. The green dinosaur statue... has a price tag of $100-thousand dollars. Roads are turning to rivers in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. Heavy rain has triggered flooding in the area. You can see torrents of fast moving flood water winding their way through the canyons. Many of these areas are no strangers to flooding, but this year's storms have been especially brutal.Ski resorts close to home and across the state are loving every bit of this weather. Up in Mammoth Mountain, 16 to 18 inches of new snow and more is expected. Members of the resort say more than nine feet of snow has accumulated this month, which has the potential of extending the ski season.A Texas student was shot by police after bringing a gun to school. Police say they responded to an active shooter call yesterday morning at a charter school. According to school officials, a student was discovered to have brought a firearm onto campus. Police say when they arrived they attempted to negotiate with the student... But during the negotiation, an officer-involved shooting occurred. Police say no other students or officers were injured... and the suspect was transported to a local hospital. First responders say they are grateful the incident was not much worse.
