Some of today's top storiesa violent crash that shut down lanes of highway 178 last night.one of the cars resting in the median of the road.This happened on the 178 between Haley Street and Mount Vernon Avenue.At least two cars were involved.Most of the road had to be shut down as crews cleared the area.We're still waiting for more information about the crash from CHP, but an ambulance was seen leaving the scene.A man accused of domestic violence and being armed with weapons was shot by a deputy in Oildale.The shooting happened yesterday afternoon.    KCSO says deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Beardsley Avenue.    Officials say when deputies arrived, they confronted a man armed with a deadly weapon.    One deputy shot the suspect.    That man was sent to the hospital.    No one else was hurt.    KCSO says there were multiple guns found on sceneToday marks four years since the world abruptly stopped...and began navigating a deadly pandemic. It was March 11, 2020.    The World Health Organization formally decalred coronavirus a pandemic.    Later that day, Tom Hanks announced he had contracted the virus.    The NBA had canceled the rest of its season.    Here in Kern County, public health officials confirmed the first case of COVID-19 on Saint Patricks Day 2020.    Our first confirmed death was a few weeks later.    Since then, 2,676 Kern County residents have died from the virus.Access to mental health services has long been a challenge for older Americans. And although Medicare's population has more than doubled over the past few decades...    The number of mental health care providers has not...but a new expansion in coverage is looking to change that.    NBC news correspondent Valerie Castro looks at how the move will affect seniors and prospective providers.
