Some of today's top storiesfire crews raced to the scene of a structure fire in central Bakersfield early this morning. It happened just before 2 a.m. on Holtby Road.    You can see damage to the home in this video...    As firefighters douse the flames.    No injuries have been reported.    The cause of this fire is under investigationWe now know the reason for the overwhelming law enforcement response to an unexplained incident on Seventh Standard Road Tuesday afternoon.    A body found inside a patrol car in northwest Bakersfield is that of a Kern County Sheriff's deputy.              17's Robert Price has the story.A Kern County jury convicted a man of causing a crash while high on drugs, leaving three people dead. Jose De Jesus Velazquez-Gomez t-boned a car carrying three women headed to their farmworker jobs in Lamont.    The crash happened November 3 at the intersection of South Edison and Di Giorgio Roads.    Prosecutors said Velazquez-Gomez was impaired by methamphetamine at the time of the crash.    Jurors found him guilty of murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to court records.    Velazquez-Gomez faces a life term in prison at his sentencing in July.Two Columbian nationals are in custody this morning - accused of abducting a Delano woman and forcing her to withdraw thousands of dollars from her bank account.    17's Mikhala Armstrong with more on the investigation into the crime that has left a neighborhood on edge.
