Some of today's top storiesAn hours long standoff in northeast Bakersfield came to an end late last night. Bakersfield police were called to the six-thousand block of Hill Dale Court around 6 p.m. for a domestic violence incident. When they arrived, officers were able to get a woman and her children safely out of the home. But, BPD says the suspect, 30-year-old Paul McCormack refused to leave and made threats to the officers. The SWAT team and crisis negotiators were called out and a couple of hours later, they made entry into the home and arrested McCormack. He was booked into Kern County jail on numerous charges including domestic violence, child endangerment, and violating a restraining orderA woman who stands accused of killing a child outside an Ohio grocery store, says she killed before...here in Bakersfield 32-year-old Bionca Ellis pleaded not guilty to all seven of her charges, including murder, at her arraignment Monday. Police say the stabbing appears to have been a random attack. According to court records, Ellis told police that a few months ago, she killed a woman in Bakersfield... and dumped the body in an unknown area, possibly near a river. We reached out to the Bakersfield Police Department about the possible murder, and a spokesperson said investigators looked into her claims, and the information was not consistent with any unsolved homicides.Kern County Sheriff's office is searching for a man wanted for a sexual assault that happened in the parking lot of the Kern County courthouse on Truxtun Avenue around 8:30 in the morning last Wednesday. He was last seen wearing this blue shirt, blue hat and khaki pants.{banner} If you know who he is...or his whereabouts...you're urged to call KCSO at 861-3110A brush fire that prompted evacuations at the Bakersfield Amazon facility - is out tonight. The fire started around 3 p.m. on James Road near Meadows Field Airport. The fire grew to 100 acres and, at one point, threatened nearby structures. But, Kern County firefighters were able to keep it from spreading and began mopping up a couple of hours later.
