Some of today's top storiesNight one of the democratic national convention featured a raucous and rowsing tribute to the party's leader.    Just weeks ago, president Joe Biden was the Democrats' nominee for a second term... Now he has officially passed the torch to his former running mate, Vice President Kamala Harris.    NBC's Alice Barr has more on a historic night in Chicago.We are learning California Governor Gavin Newsom will speak tonight from the convention floor. His speech comes during the D-N-C delegate roll call tally where Governor Newsom will deliver the delegates that formally clinch the Democratic nomination for president for fellow Californian and Vice President Kamala Harris.   Newsom and Harris have known each other for decades...Back to their days in San Francisco when Newsom served as mayor and Harris as district attorney.   Harris -- who has also served as California attorney general and represented California in the U-S Senate -- will accept the nomination on Thursday.While this convention is expected to be more of a celebration, many are drawing parallels to the DNC of 1968 -- remembered for the disorderly last-minute candidate nomination... fist fights on the convention floor... and violent protests against the Vietnam War.     17's Jenny Huh introduces us to a local man who attended that convention 56 years ago. This morning -- county leaders will hold a community forum regarding interactions between local law enforcement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement--or ICE. That's in accordance with a state law known as the Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds Act--or the TRUTH Act, which requires local law enforcement agencies to report when they've given ICE access to individuals in custody once a year. It's happening at the Board of Supervisors meeting in downtown Bakersfield at 9 a.m.This morning -- officials are still looking for two children abducted by two adults in south L-A last week.    You may have seen the Amber Alert issued yesterday afternoon.    Wyman and Willow Bryant were last seen last Wednesday... Near south vermont avenue and west 83rd street.    Authorities believe they were taken by 38-year-old tiffany bryant... And 53-year-old david james.    Investigators are looking for a champagne-colored 2008 buick enclave... With paper license plates.    Anyone who has seen wyman, willow or the suspects should call 9-1-1.
