And tried to make the case for the Harris-Walz ticket. As they did, the candidates themselves were in another arena... NBC's Alice Barr is in Chicago with the latest.Now to an exclusive interview with governor Gavin newsom at the democratic national convention in Chicago... "Inside California Politics" co-host Nikki Laurenzo went one-on-one with the governor...All part of a conversation that saw a passionate newsom express frustration over the state's homelessness crisis, but that's not all. 17 News Capitol correspondent Eytan Wallace has more.Here locally, Kern County's elections department presented its plan for the 2024 election cycle. But controversy surrounds livestreaming voters using remote ballot boxes. The elections office claims it violates voter privacy, but some argue it would increase voters trust in the system. 17's Connor Dore reports.Looking ahead.. The 8th Annual Bakersfield Marathon will be running through town on March 30th, 2025.
