180 Ed Squire - #METOO, WHAT NOW? Your recovery begins with your story

from Neff Inspiration · host Neff Inspiration

For over 20 years, Ed was a senior business consultant for Fortune 500 and global companies throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Ed is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, and in 2018, he started a nonprofit called 'MeToo, WhatNow.’  He is driven to help survivors of any kind of childhood abuse and trauma rebuild their lives. In 2016, he filed a public lawsuit against one of his abusers. He's currently producing a documentary about the experience. His central platform is YouTube, where he creates videos to connect with other survivors and build community. In Ed's words:  "The most powerful step in a survivor's journey is connecting with other survivors and sharing their stories. When this happens, it makes a significant difference in many areas of their lives, including their ability to help other survivors. We need a paradigm shift in how we are taught to treat ourselves and others as we go through this process. Most survivors I've spoken with over the years tell me how much it meant to them. In some cases, it even saved their lives by talking to another survivor who understands.  The big question is, "When is the right time?"   3 top tips for my audience: 1. Learn how to ‘Locate yourself.’  I.e. self-actualization and awareness. 2. “You’re not alone” sounds nice, but find a community where you’re safe, accepted, and you can thrive. 3. In life, you get to be whatever you want to be.  Don’t let your past define you.  Look at yourself in the mirror for who you used to be and learn how to define who you want to become.    Get in touch with Ed:  Website:  https://www.metoowhatnow.com  Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/metoowhatnow YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/c/metoowhatnow  Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/visiblekindness/ LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/edsquire/ Twitter:  https://twitter.com/metoowhatnow   Wait, there is more!!!
