#185 "Pivot" anyone?

Growth Instigators Hotline970.306.6432What is the best pivot you’ve ever had?Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every week day!  This is message #185 and I am Aaron Havens.Do you remember a few year ago this little thing the entire world experienced together call COVID?!How was that pause for you?  What came to your mind.  Where did you spend your time.  Mask anyone?  Howling or banging pots?  Zoom?  Essential worker?  Whatever came to your mind, I bet you could deeply feel it.  To live through something as big as a global pandemic… now that’s something.  A Prudential survey conducted in February of 2021 found that 22% of workers switched jobs during the pandemic, with another 50% actively looking for a new job.  That is a lot of job switching.  And according to the U.S. Census Bureau on a whopping 5.4 million new business applications were filed in 2021, surpassing the record set in 2020 of 4.4 million.John Wooden has said "Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.”When a global pandemic was forced upon you… what changed in your life?  How much of that was because you had no other options, and how much of that was by choice?Before COVID one of the companies I co-lead was primary a window cleaning company.  During the pandemic we “pivoted” (buzz word for those two years) and started disinfecting spraying… which led to janitorial work… which led to post construction cleaning… which, between those to industries probably represents half of our total work these day.  Not a bad pivot huh!  What about you?  What changed in your life during COVID?
