19. Continuación y fin del acto (Fausto, Goethe)

Han transcurrido doscientos sesenta años desde el nacimiento de J. W. von Goethe (1749-1832), y su Fausto sigue siendo un clásico, pues plantea el problema de los límites y el sentido de la acción...... humana a través de la parábola del pacto con el diablo: ¿merece la pena el pacto?, ¿qué lo justifica?, ¿es el diablo una realidad separada del hombre o es nuestro otro yo? Fausto es una obra trágica enteramente dialogada, concebida más para ser leída que para ser representada (al estilo de La Celestina). Fue publicada en dos partes: Faust: der Tragödie erster Teil (Fausto: Primera parte de la tragedia) y Faust: der Tragödie zweiter Teil (Fausto: Segunda parte de la tragedia). Se trata de la obra más famosa de Goethe y está considerada como una de las grandes obras de la literatura universal. Un clásico imprescindible de la Literatura alemana que sigue despertando el interés del lector contemporáneo.
