#19. New Year, New You - Building/Breaking Habits

from The Physician Philosopher Podcast · host Jimmy Turner, MD

What if you make 2021 a year where you actually accomplish your goals and stick to a new you? That'd be nice, right? Turns out you really can but… queue drum roll... there is a systemic approach to doing it.  When it comes to habit formation, I always like talking about the concepts of System 1 and System 2 from Amos Tversky and Daniel Khaneman. You can read more about this in Khaneman's book, which details their work called Thinking, Fast and Slow. The fundamentals include assessment, interpretation, and intentionality. I'm not perfect but I was able to rewire my brain. I give you several practical tips for you to do the same. Sign up > > One of my greatest joys is helping you, coaching you, and supporting you.
