2/27 Georgia Weather 6 PM: 44° Above Normal

Good morning. Maine. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks, that soaking we took? It's over. A cold front is sweeping east right now, dragging all that moisture out to sea and pulling in drier air behind it. Georgia wrung out over an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. Tonight we finally get to breathe. In the next 24 hours. Metro Atlanta is already drying out. Partly sunny skies this afternoon with a high of 68 degrees. That damp chill from this morning? Gone. Tonight settles into the low 50s under partly cloudy skies. Pretty comfortable sleeping weather if you crack a window. Slide over toward the coast and you're still catching the tail end of things. Savannah sees lingering showers this afternoon, high near 69 degrees. but the rain wraps up before midnight. Lows drop to 54. Eastern Georgia stays mostly cloudy and dry at 66 degrees. Watch for patchy fog developing after 10 P.M. As all that leftover moisture hugs the ground. Lows around 52. Quick heads up for Gwinnett County. Suwanee Creek is running high. A Flood Warning holds through late tonight with minor flooding expected. Stay off flooded roads. Seriously. Not worth it. Now the reward for surviving yesterday's mess. Saturday morning starts foggy, then clears. Highs push into the upper 60s. Sunday is the showstopper. Sunny skies, 73 to 76 degrees statewide. That's a solid 44 degrees above normal for late February. Perfect for getting outside. Looking further out. Monday and Tuesday cool off as a wedge settles into northeast Georgia. Highs dip to the low 60s up there. Then temperatures surge by Thursday. Upper 70s, flirting with 80, with rain chances creeping back in. Oh. and we're gaining over two minutes of daylight every single day now. Spring equinox is three weeks out. I'll be watching that creek level tonight. You go enjoy the dry air.
