2/28 Rhode Island Weather Noon: Unseasonably Warm

Considering we woke up to 18 this morning, that 26-degree jump is something else. An Arctic front is charging toward New England. and today is your last comfortable day for a while. In the next 24 hours. Here's what's happening. High pressure is giving us mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Providence climbs to 46 degrees — that's 8 degrees above normal for late February. Down at Narragansett Bay, you'll see 42 degrees with a gentle south wind around 7 miles an hour. Honestly, it's perfect weather for a walk. Tonight, clouds increase. Lows drop to 27 degrees in Providence and 29 along the Bay. Sunday is when the pattern flips. An Arctic front sweeps through, bringing light snow. Providence sees snow start around 10 A.M., peaking around 1 P.M. The Bay gets hit closer to noon. We're only talking about an inch or so of accumulation. Still, roads could be slick for a few hours.
