De Molukse wijk Alphen aan den Rijn is niet groot. Maar speelt een grote rol in de vorming en beleving van de Molukse cultuur. Het nieuwe buurthuis speelt daarbij een belangrijke rol. Ouderen in de Molukse wijk, zijn nog steeds begaan met het lot van de mensen op de Molukse eilanden, waar nu veel bos wordt weggekapt en grond onteigend door multinationals. Noem het een aangepast RMS ideaal.  Ook voor jongeren die in Nederland zijn geboren en opgegroeid is de wijk een bron van inspiratie. Ze voelen zich thuis en delen hun cultuur.
