What is discourse? Discourse is written or spoken communication or debate. Major bible chunks that fall under this description are the law in OT and the epistles in NT. Behavioral, heart and character change is a natural byproduct of seeking God and meditating on His character. Jesus is the only one capable of changing hearts.
