We’re joined today by Curtis Herbert, the developer behind Slopes and one of our speakers at Release Notes 2017. We talk about his pricing experiments with Slopes and his experience taking Slopes from a paid up-front model to an annual subscription model. We talk about selling benefits instead of features, the effect that churn has on the decision to use subscriptions, the somewhat unique payment mode (at least on iOS) used by Sketch, and the inevitability of the “race to the bottom” on iOS.
