22 Hebrews 12:1-24 (Our Pursuit - The Need for Teamwork)

* You can get the sermon note sheet at: https://family-bible-church.org/2026Messages/26Feb08.pdf * In chapter 10, as we transitioned from the doctrinal aspect of the book of Hebrews to the applicational aspect, the writer provided three exhortations to the church which ought to be the initial effect in our lives of the redemptive work of Jesus. We are exhorted to draw near to God with a true heart, to hold fast the confession of our hope, and to consider one another in order to stir up love and good works. * We then transitioned to how these things could, and would, occur in the lives of the saints - "The just shall live by faith." We were then given many examples of normal individuals who lived this life of faith in marvelous ways. * Two weeks ago we began to consider how we too can live this life of faith. * Last week, we began to consider the race which we called to run in pursuit of this goal. As at the beginning of this applicational section, we saw that the focus of our faith - the focus of our journey - the focus of our pursuit - needs to be Jesus, YHWH incarnate! This pursuit will require us to be diligent and disciplined in our lives. Additionally, we saw that God, as our loving heavenly Father, will discipline us when we do not use self-discipline. * Today, we will pick up our discussion of our pursuit in by considering our need for the Father's assistance and that of the rest of our "Family" as we press toward the mark! * This message was presented by Bob Corbin on February 8, 2026 at Family Bible Church in Martinez, Georgia.
