It's Spooky Season, so we had to do our internet-mandated "horror" episode. So we dug up QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, a horror "musical"(?) featuring songs by Jonathan Davis of Korn and starring none other than Aaliyah. We REALLY try and talk about Aaliyah, but we also talk a lot about Korn's surprising crossovers into the rap world. We do find time to play some FIRE Aaliyah songs though. Anyway enjoy this very spooky episode.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/bodegaboxoffice--1441069/support.

  • 802 – The Damned

    10/31/2017

Jim and A.Ron decry the debacle that was the latest episode of The Walking Dead, “The Damned”.  If you liked the episode, I’m happy for you. But this is us explaining why we didn’t.  There was a lot of action, but it had not context, and even if it did, a surprising amount was staged and executed so poorly you couldn’t tell if the good guys were winning or losing, even if you knew the objective.  Worse, the rampant Morgalizing of seasons past has returned in a big way.  This time, they’re hand wringing about what kind of people they’re going to be in the middle of heated gun fights to make it even more annoying.  Ya’ll, we’re desperately hunkered down behind an armored car here, taking fire, waiting for a genuinely good episode to shamble over this season.  Maybe next week? Embrace The Void

Welcome friends, to a podcast for a darker timeline. Maybe the darkest of all timelines. Definitely not one of the good timelines. Maybe it’s always been a dark timeline, maybe the Hadron collider screwed us over. Science may never know. What we do know is that we live in the void. The void, a place where a chittering mass of void crabs can infest a person suit and win the presidency. The void, a place where we're just clever enough to know that climate change is happening, but not quite clever enough to do anything about it. The void seems terrible and cruel, but it loves you, in its own ironic way.

Welcome to Anti-wave Podcast, where Robert Cannon + Ira Heffler discuss all your Anti-wave movie needs. What the hell is Anti-wave, you ask? Great question. In short, Anti-wave is a way to describe films that seek to buck the typical Hollywood trends. Anti-wave is an opportunity to reimagine the way we construct genre films. Anti-westerns have been popular in the years since WWII, but where are the anti-sports films that try to shake off the expected formulaic writing? This podcast tries to find those films for you. Along the way, we deliver some laughs, get into film theory, and speak with filmmakers who share our anti-sentiment. So, welcome to Anti-wave Podcast! We hope you enjoy the ride.

    NOCLIP

WELCOME TO NOCLIP! We are a fortnightly, book club-styled podcast in which we attempt to go in-depth on an individual video game and figure out what makes it unique. Episodes are around an hour to an hour and a half long and primarily feature free form discussion on themes and mechanics present in each episode’s titular game. Bear in mind that we are not reviewers, so as far as we critique the games at hand, our intent is not to convince you to play any particular work. SPOILER WARNING: Given the depth at which we intend to cover the games in question, those which feature a story, plot, mechanical surprises, fun moments you may not have heard about or otherwise will be fully discussed, likely at length. Given this, it is advised that you go into each episode with the understanding that these elements will most likely be spoiled. If you are sensitive to that sort of thing, we recommend that you either play the game before listening to the podcast, or skip the episode altogether. (Though
