Now, the Aomori Nebuta Festival is scheduled to be held from August 2 to 7. This festival is designated as a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset and is a popular summer festival that attracts more than 2 million tourists every year. It is the first time the festival has been held in three years, as it was canceled the past two years due to a pandemic, and 17 Nebuta floats are being prepared for the event. The Nebuta Matsuri is a spectacular festival in which huge lighted lanterns (Nebuta) are paraded on floats and dancers called "haneto" dance around the floats. 重要 Jyuyou 無形 Mukei 民俗文化財 Minzoku bunkazai 観光客 Kankokyaku 灯籠 Tourou 山車 Dashi Hola.
