3. Kiana Clay - A Superstar Female Adaptive Athlete

from Adaptive · host Mick Miller

Kiana Clay is a superstar adaptive athlete. She lost the use of her dominant arm (right) in a horrific dirt bike accident when she was 12 years old. The track conditions were wet and deep from rain the previous night. Kiana crashed on a practice lap, fell, and the rider had no time to react and landed on her neck. Kiana woke up in the hospital to heartbreaking news: complete paralysis of her dominant right arm. Kiana's disability did not stop her from chasing extreme sports. Kiana learned how to ride a dirt bike again after a seven-year hiatus. Snowboarding has been her primary focus since becoming the first adaptive female athlete to sign with Burton Snowboards. Her next hurdle is competing in the Paralympics in Beijing. Kiana's story is more profound than this description, so tune in to her episode and enjoy.Guest Info:Instagram: kianaclay23Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KianaClay23Website: kianaclay.comAdditional Resources:Nichole Mason: InstagramOzell Williams: InstagramAdaptive Action Sportsch High Fives FoundationChallenge Athletes FoundationGear:Rekluse: Clutch PerformanceScotts Performance Products Contact Me:Email: [email protected]: @mick.p.millerHosted and Produced by Me - Mick MillerAudio (Newbie) by Me - Mick MillerCover Art and Logo Design by Me (Mick Miller) and Mikayla Seaton
