Summary

Gil emigró al Reino Unido desde Brasil con su pareja y sus dos hijos. Entró al país como turista y posteriormente se convirtió en indocumentada. Cuando el abuso aumentó, Gil huyó de su casa pero no recibió ayuda de la policía británica. Acabó en la calle con sus hijos en el invierno. Su vida cambió al encontrarse con el Servicio para los Derechos de las Mujeres Latinoamericanas (Latin American Women’s Rights Service - LAWRS), y ahora Gil trabaja en la Campaña Step Up Migrant Women, perteneciente a la organización, para visibilizar la vulnerabilidad de las mujeres migrantes con estatus incierto en situaciones de abuso doméstico. LAWRS también trabaja con Migrants in Action (MinA), un teatro comunitario dedicado a las mujeres brasileñas que han sufrido violencia de género. A través de técnicas teatrales, ellas crean un espacio seguro para compartir sus experiencias, identificar la violencia y sanar.Women Resisting Violence es presentado por Renata Peppl y producido por Louise Morris.
