We'd love to hear from you!#3 - EMPOWERING AND THOUGHTFUL A quote that I shared previously in this book, bears repeating again, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” – Theodore Roosevelt. We truly build our future on how we perceive ourselves. Yet, how we perceive ourselves will always reflect how others see us. If your inner dialogue is primarily focused on how you can promote yourself or how you can help others recognize your significance, you create the reverse of what you desire. Some will see you as selfish and ill confident while others will see you as a “victim”, always looking for someone to feel sorry for you or give you a “break.” When you try to have relationships, you will struggle because, subconsciously, you are making them feel unimportant or insignificant because of your focus on YOU rather than them. This perplexing anomaly is a vicious cycle for many. People who get caught in this trap often do so unknowingly and if asked, they truly do not intend to come across this way. In fact, just the opposite, they desperately want to be liked, valued and acknowledged. However, due to the wrong inner dialogue, they constantly struggle with how they feel about themselves and how others are perceiving them. This makes them only try harder to be recognized such as the teen who constantly gets into trouble. He does not wake up each day thinking about how he can cause trouble, rather how he can be important or noticed by his peers.  To be influential, make it a goal each day to look for opportunities to Empower others and just be thoughtful. Below are a few tips:  Remember their names and speak them when talking to them  Recognize the accomplishments and/or feelings of others  Pay attention to them, making them feel valued and significant  Ask questions about them  Look for opportunities to praise   Listen without interrupting or forcing your agenda“Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others.  Unsuccessful people are always asking, "What's in it for me?”  ― Brian TracyExcerpts and insights* from Chapter 10 of "Your Journey to Greatness Through Routine: A Guide to Creating a Success Routine" Book Contains:7 Actual Case Studies8 Downloadable ToolsAssessment Questions at the End of Each ChapterThe Brain Science Behind HabitsRetraining Your Brain Through Cognitive RestructuringHeart Science, Energy and the Law of AttractionPowerful Principles of Influence and GreatnessTips and Tools to Build Your Success Routine*Certain portions have been added to actual book excerpts by the author.  LEARN MORE AND PURCHASE THE BOOK at http://michellesteffes.com/bookSupport the showMichelle L Steffes is a Certified Speaker, Corporate Trainer, Executive Coach and Author of two books: "Reframe & Rewire" (also available on Audible) and "The Machine Inside Me."
