Galatians 5:1 Liberty For Life-Part 1 Topical Series Pastor Phil Ballmaier Calvary Chapel Elk Grove 9-1-24 Pastor Phil of Calvary Chapel normally teaches the Bible verse-by-verse, but we are taking a topical approach to The Book of Galatians. Today we are in Part 1 of our next section of Galatians, "Liberty For Life" as we begin Chapter 5.. Pastor Phil previously outlined Chapters 1 through 4 with Paul's direction at dealing with the Galatians who were being swayed by the Judaizers who were bent on placing them not under the liberty that comes from the grace of Christ, but the bondage that comes from the Law. Paul points out: "Although all things are lawful for me, not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify" 1 Corinthians 10:23 That although we have liberty in Christ, let it not lead us to do things that are ungodly, but seek to glorify God in all things. Paul had travelled through Asia Minor, and when he arrived in Galatia he realized they had already fallen away from the teachings of the Gospel of grace. The Judaizers were a group of Jews who tried to put the Church back under the Law by telling people it was necessary for them to keep the Law of Moses before exercising faith in Jesus for salvation.
