So-Young Kang, Founder & CEO of Gnowbe, Founding Chairman of Awaken Group So-Young is a pioneer and serial entrepreneur constantly looking at new ways of solving big challenges. Her latest challenge is focused on how to maximize human potential and reach billions through founding Gnowbe, which is disrupting the future of talent and work through a mobile-first, microlearning and employee experience solution. This was spun-out from her first company, Awaken Group, a multi-discipl­inary Transformation Design (TD) firm that integrates strategy, leadership and innovation to catalyze change. Her experiences also include McKinsey & Company, Harvard Business School and Citigroup. With the impact of her work, she was nominated to be a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in ­2014. She sits on the Global Council for the Korean Peninsula with the World Economic Forum, HR Transformation Committee by the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore and on the boards of LNKM and GeniusU. So-Young is the co-founder of The Young Professionals’ Group (YPG), a nonprofit dedicated to helping students achieve their professional dreams globally. So-Young is the author of “Inside Out,” a book on purpose-driven leadership and innovation. She has written for the World Economic Forum, Huffington Post and contributed to several books and thought pieces. She is a frequent speaker at global forums including Davos with the World Economic Forum, the World Bank, AMNC (known as ‘Summer Davos’ in China), Asia Development Bank and TEDx. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA with Honors from the University of Pennsylvania. So-Young is a Korean-American based out of both the US and Singapore.
