We hear people all the time saying I need to lose weight, so I am going to reduce my calories and start running.  Now I will start by saying its not wrong, but is it the most effective way to lose weight?  First rule: You need to burn more calories that you take in!  Second: You must do glycogen depletion activities to allow your body to tap into your fat cells! Third: You must allow your body to properly metabolize all your food so your not dumping fuel on top of fuel! If we only had one option and we had to make a choice of lifting weights or doing cardio to burn fat…….Hands down lifting weights would be my first choice.
