Tomaž Čelanski, ki se je Frančišku pridružil v redovništvu, je prvi, ki je sestavil njegov življenjepis. V predgovoru slovenskega prevoda je tudi stavek p. Mirana Špeliča, ki najbolje povzame namen besedil: »Življenje svetega Frančiška je besedilo, ki od bralca zahteva dejavno sodelovanje.« U ambonu Fortna Duchovní slovo na neděli a na týden připravuje hradčanský klášter Fortna.
