The company is developing several of its properties for scripted and unscripted film and television, including an animated series based on Flom’s Lulu is a Rhinoceros children's book. Through Lava Advisors, Kempler helps clients navigate the worlds of technology, philanthropy and immersive entertainment. Prior to co-founding Lava, Kempler was the COO of Sub Rosa, an award-winning global strategy, design, and branding practice. The firm’s clients included Bridgewater, Citi, Diageo, GE, Google, Levi's, Napster, Nike, Pantone, Spotify, Target, TED, Warby Parker, and Tiger Woods/TGR Ventures. Before Sub Rosa, he served as COO of the North America & UK labels of EMI Music, where he led A & R operations, business development, and business & legal affairs, and initiated the company’s first American environmental policy group, following roles as the EVP of Virgin Records and COO of the Capitol Music Group. Kempler has served on boards of several entertainment ventures (including Jay Z's Roc-a-Fella Records while SVP of The Island Def Jam Music Group), consulted companies in the fashion and celebrity industries, and counseled numerous household-name clients as an entertainment lawyer.
