Hi everyone! This week, I have Kristin Gabriel with me, one of my old high school friends who I now have the pleasure to work with at The Ecology Center. This episode, we discuss a concept that isn't talked about often but is very common: codependency. The simple definition of codependency is complete emotional and psychological reliance on a partner in a variety of settings, resulting in the loss of a sense of self and confidence through "people pleasing" and other unhealthy behavior patterns.Recently, Kristin and I met over some coffee and shared our own experiences in the past with codependency, quickly realizing how often our stories paralleled in similarity. This realization inspired us to commit to creating an episode for you all in which we open up about our own struggles with "people pleasing" that most likely will hit a little close to home in resemblance with maybe some of your own experiences.
