He's received many awards and honors, including the AOCS Ralph T. Homan Achievement Award in 2015, the prestigious Danone International Prize for Nutrition in 2016, and the DSM Lifetime Achievement Prize in human nutrition in 2017. He's also helped steer many of the nutrition organizations over the last 20 years, including ISSFAL, ESPEN, the Nutrition Society, and currently the Federation of European Nutrition Societies.
