Summary

Hello! Welcome back to Kindful the Podcast. In this episode I share a new perspective on aspiring to become the "best" version of ourselves, and instead offer up the idea of working towards becoming the most whole, integrated and authentic version of ourselves. Of course it's a beautiful thing to want to be a better human, I feel like this is something we can all aspire to be, however the idea of becoming our "best" selves feels really unattainable to me. It can leave us feeling inadequate and shameful, particularly in the times where we don't feel our "best".  Becoming a more whole and authentic version of ourselves on the other hand feels a lot more supportive to me. It creates space for our humanness. It allows us to be in those more challenging periods of our lives, to be with the harder emotions we all experience at times, and to be okay with ourselves and not judge ourselves so much as we go through this. And it's in these difficult times where we can discover the most about ourselves and experience some of our greatest growth, so why would we want to bypass this and to "be the best", instead of being with the experience and discovering what it is we can learn through it.  In the words of my dear late Pa, "You don't have to be the best, you just have to try your best". My love, you are doing your best and trying your hardest and that is enough. And this will look different each day.  You do not need to become this "best" version of you. How about you take some of that pressure off yourself and just allow yourself to be who you are, warts and all. Much love xx  Sign up to my newsletter to be the first to hear about my upcoming offerings here.
