We are asking them to save the Black Community through the institution of marriage. Black women in the US marry less than others - and the numbers are even lower for darker skinned black women. Is colorism – favoring lighter skin – to blame? It time that we as a community get ahead of the game, put away old duties of gender stereotypes, and encourage our single women to propose to the man in their life. Since almost all the statistical evidence suggest that Black women tend to be the least likely to get married outside of the race, how-about we encourage out sistas just to get married period.
